The National Investigation Agency (NIA) team raided Puranpur in Pilibhit in connection with the murder of a National Kabaddi player from Punjab. The NIA team along with the Kotwali police reached the house of Azad Singh, a resident of village Abhaypur Madhaupur, on Tuesday morning. The team searched the house by breaking the locks of the trunks. This action created panic in the village.

Azad Singh’s father, who is lodged in Punjab Jail, is originally from Punjab. In the year 2006, he built his house on the edge of the forest in village Abhay Pur Madhopur of Puranpur area. No one lives in the house here for the last several years. Rajendra Singh is looking after his farming.
