On the eve of New Year, Orion Mall, AD Mall, City Mall, Venus Mall etc. of the city were seen alive. The operators of the malls decorated it on the theme of New Year. Since morning, the movement of youth at these places was more than on other days.

The people of Christian society celebrated the new year with great pomp. Special prayer meetings were held in the church. The cake was cut and people wished each other a Happy New Year by feeding them cake. Under the leadership of the parish priest Fr. Binny, the people thanked the Lord Jesus. Bishop Thomas Thuruthittam, Bishop of Catholicism Province of Gorakhpur, wished everyone a Happy New Year. After this the cake was cut.
Business of flowers worth 25 lakhs
With the celebration of the new year, people wish each other by giving flowers and bouquets of roses. A huge crowd was seen at the flower stalls on Golghar, Medical College Road, Mohaddipur, Betiahata, Hazaripur, Asuran Chowk, Jail Road. The cost of one rose flower was Rs.30. Flower businessman Pankaj Saini told that rose flowers have been brought from Nashik, Pune and Bhopal. Gerbera flowers have been brought from Lucknow along with Pune.
