Under the Tadighat-Mau Rail Expansion Project, the diesel engine trial run of the much-awaited project of about 1766 crores, 9.500 km long from City Station to Sonwal, took place. Late Saturday evening, the diesel engine reached Sonwal from the city station fearlessly. After that left for Sonwal towards City station. There was a wave of happiness among railway officials and engineers on this achievement.
At the city station, CPM Vikas Chandra broke the coconut and sent the engine for trial. The diesel engine left for Sonwal at 6.35 minutes from the city station at a speed of 10 to 15 km. The diesel engine reached Sonwal station at 7:45 in one hour and 10 minutes. After that again left for Sonwal to City station.

There was a huge gathering of people at various places to see this trial run. People were busy capturing this moment in mobile. According to the department, the electric engine will also be trialled in the third week of March. While the CRS of this new rail line is confirmed on 28 March.
