Nashik: Hospitals in the city are required to register with the medical department of the Nashik Municipal Corporation and renew their licences, but as about 76 hospitals have not done so, the Nashik Municipal Corporation has sent them notices within seven days. Instructions have been given to submit the documents inside. Failure to do so has been said to cancel the registration.
As per the Mumbai Nursing Homes Act 1949 and amended rules 2006 and 2013, registration is mandatory for private hospitals. Nashik Municipal Corporation area currently has 638 hospitals, out of which 452 are registered, while 156 hospitals are yet to register. Out of 156 hospitals which have not yet registered, the medical department has sent notices to 76 hospitals.

At the time of registration of the hospital, the reports of town planning department, fire department, electric audit etc. are given. In this context, it is also mandatory to have a certificate from the Pollution Control Board. If you go to pollution control board for no objection certificate then no objection certificate of Nashik Municipal Corporation is asked, in such case if you go to Nashik Municipal Corporation for certificate then pollution control board certificate is asked. Issuance of notices to the hospitals has increased the problems of those who have not registered their hospitals.
