Nashik : According to the Ground Water Survey, 3 lakh 87 thousand 500 more wells can be built under MNREGA in the protected area villages of the state, which will benefit the farmers of this complex. . According to the survey conducted by the Ground Water Department, permission is given to construct irrigation wells only in the Panlot area of ​​safe category in the state. In some areas of the state, the ground has been made operational by making wells. Due to the low level of water, the expenditure is being wasted due to non-availability of water even after making wells.

That’s why it is necessary to make wells by practicing at the ground water level of the premises. Ground water survey report is important for taking advantage of wells under MNREGA. As per section 3 of the Maharashtra Ground Water (Regulation for Drinking Water) Act 1993, there is a ban on construction of new well within 500 meters of an existing drinking water source. According to the government decision, irrigation wells should not be allowed within 500 meters of existing drinking water sources. Also, the condition of 150 meter gap between two irrigation wells is not applicable. The condition of minimum distance of 150 meters between two irrigation wells should not apply to run-off zone and families belonging to SC and ST and below poverty line.

Digging of wells in 1146 villages of Nashik district has got the go-ahead.

While approving irrigation wells under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, 150 meters from private wells. The condition of difference will not apply. Therefore, digging of wells in 1146 villages of Nashik district alone has got the green signal. In Nandgaon tehsil out of 100 villages, individual wells will be made in 72 villages and community wells in 19 villages. Permission has not been granted to construct a well in 9 villages.
