Nashik : Nashik Municipal Corporation (Nashik Municipal Corporation)-run Bitco Hospital (Bitco Hospital) has created a stir after two different blood groups of the same person came to the fore. The lab started by the Nashik Municipal Corporation to test blood at a low rate has once again come under the scanner of controversies. In this context, it has been learned that during the treatment of a person, two different groups of his blood have come to the fore. In this matter, a complaint has been lodged with Nashik Municipal Commissioner Dr. Chandrakant Pulkundwar on behalf of MNS along with proof. The Municipal Commissioner took the matter very seriously and after ordering an inquiry into the matter, the Medical Department issued a show cause notice to Krasna Lab. The labs were privatized in 2017, as the Nashik Municipal Administration could not afford to run labs for testing in self-run hospitals. In Bitco Hospital, many tests including blood group test are done through Krasna Labs. The lab collects blood, urine and other samples from Nashik Municipal Corporation’s hospital and primary health centre. Zakir Hussain is being sent directly to the main lab of the hospital for treatment, due to which a lot of trouble is being faced.
It takes a lot of time to bring samples from there. Therefore, the citizens have expressed their displeasure over the delayed report from the lab. Ashutosh Nikam was declared ‘AB positive’ after the blood group test in this lab on November 15, 2022. After giving another sample of Nikam in this lab, it was found that it is ‘B positive’ blood group, as soon as this matter came to light, discussions started that how can the same person have two blood-groups.

A few days ago something similar happened with another patient. Whatever happened with Ashutosh Nikam, something similar happened with Ramakrishna Porje. Porje’s blood test was done on November 10, his blood group was found to be ‘B positive’, while the next day when he again gave the test, his blood group was said to be ‘O positive’. When the MNS took the matter of negligence in the hospital regarding the blood test to the municipal commissioner, he ordered an inquiry into the matter.
The Municipal Commissioner said that this is a very serious matter and a complaint has been received in this regard. After receiving reports of two blood group diagnoses from the same person, notice has been given to the lab, legal action will be taken after their disclosure.
