The members of Namami Gange have geared up for cleaning the ghats before Dev Deepawali. To keep the Ghats of Kashi clean, a special cleanliness drive was started from Rajghat to Namo Ghat on Wednesday. Namami Gange and 137 CETF Battalion (Territorial Army) 39 Gorkha Rifle Ganga Task Force personnel carried out a joint operation to create awareness along with cleaning the ghats.
Under the cleanliness campaign, the garbage dumped from place to place on the ghats was also carried by the members and jawans of Namami Gange to their rightful place. After Shramdaan at the Ghats, an oath was also administered to the tourists and common people present there to keep the Ganga and the Ghats clean. Everyone was determined to keep the uninterrupted stream of the impure holy mother Ganga flowing with purity and to keep her always clean. In the midst of Ganga Maiya ki Jai, under the leadership of Rajesh Shukla, convener of Namami Gange Kashi area, everyone appealed to every Kashi resident to join Ganga cleanliness campaign with the slogan ‘Sabka Saath Ho, Ganga Saaf Ho’. The enthusiasm of youth and mothers and sisters is of great benefit to Mother Ganga.
