Pusad, A total tax of Rs 8 crore 35 lakh 13 thousand 81 was demanded from the property tax payers through Pusad municipality. Out of which only 3 crore 64 lakh 74 thousand 210 rupees have been recovered from the taxpayers annually. On the other hand, only 30.62 percent tap connection holders have paid the outstanding bill with the water supply department.
Despite repeated notices to the taxpayers falling within the limits of the Municipal Corporation, the tax has not been paid. As a result, from January 1, 2023, tax has been started at the rate of 2 percent per month.
The number of domestic tap connection holders in the city council limits is 7 thousand 925 and the number of commercial tap connection holders is 166. Out of which the city council has closed 1 thousand 293 connections till last 31st December. Last year a demand of Rs one crore 62 lakh 61 thousand 527 was made from the tap holders. Out of which the tap connection holders paid Rs 61 lakh 25. One crore 4 lakh 61 thousand 502 rupees is outstanding in the last year.
This year, when the tap connection holders demanded Rs 3 crore 14 lakh 60 thousand 322 for the arrears till December 31, 2022, the tap connection holders deposited Rs 86 lakh 18 thousand 417. This year also the tax payers have kept two crore 28 lakh 41 thousand rupees as arrears. The city council has recovered Rs 1 crore 47 lakh 18 thousand 442 on the collected demand of Rs 4 crore 80 lakh 61 thousand 849. Only 30.62 percent recovery has been done with the water supply department of the city council.
3 crore 27 lakh 50 thousand 357 rupees of property tax collected from all the property holders of Municipal Council area for the year 2022-2023 and 5 crore 7 lakh 62 thousand 724 rupees for the current year, total 8 crore 13 lakh 13 thousand 81 rupees were in demand. Out of which Rs 1 crore 71 lakh 66 thousand 235 has been collected for property tax till December 31 and Rs 1 crore 71 lakh 66 thousand 235 for the current year. Still 4 crore 70 lakh 38 thousand 871 rupees are still outstanding to the property owner within the municipal limits. Due to which, now from January 1, 2023, the amount is being recovered from the outstanding property holders with two percent interest.
Decision was taken regarding interest recovery
From April 1, 2022, 2 percent recovery per month has been made on the collected property tax under Section 150 (A) of the Municipal Council, Municipal Panchayat and Industrial Civil Act 1965.
Under which by the end of December 31, Pusad NP has recovered Rs 20 lakh 48 thousand 560. Apart from this, two per cent interest is being charged per month on the demand of collected property tax issued under the provision of the Act.
Property holders who have paid their property tax. He is being thanked on behalf of the city council administration. And the property holders who have not paid the tax. He called for cooperation in the development of the city by paying the outstanding property tax immediately.
