A Muslim couple from Chennai has donated Rs 1.02 crore to the Tirupati temple of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh. Businessman Abdul Ghani and his wife Subina Bano handed over the check to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) officials.
Officials said that Rs 87 lakh in donation is for the furniture and utensils of the newly built Padmavati Rest House, so that the facilities there can be improved. Also included is a demand draft of Rs 15 lakh for the SV Anna Prasadam Trust, which provides free food to thousands of devotees who visit the temple every day.
The Muslim family first met Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) officer AV Dharma Reddy. After that the check was handed over to him. After the donation, TTD’s Veda-pundit translated the Vedasiravachanam, while officials gave temple offerings to Abdul Ghani and his family members.
Abdul has already donated in Balaji
Abdul Ghani is a businessman. This is not the first time that Abdul Ghani has donated to the temple. In the year 2020, he donated a tractor-mounted sprayer to spray disinfectant in the temple premises during the corona pandemic. Earlier, Subina Bano and Abdul Ghani donated a refrigerator truck worth Rs 35 lakh to the temple to transport vegetables.
Mukesh Ambani donated 1.5 crores
Reliance Industries Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani donated Rs 1.5 crore to the Tirumala temple on Friday. According to news agency IANS, Ambani had given a demand draft to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) after offering prayers at the famous temple. On Monday, around 67,276 devotees worshiped Lord Venkateswara at the Tirumala temple. During this, Rs 5.71 crore was donated to TTD.
Sri Venkateswara Temple is built on the Tirumala hills at an altitude of 3200 feet above sea level.

There is a village 23 km away from the temple, in which outsiders are not allowed entry. People live there according to the rules and flowers, milk, ghee, butter brought from there are offered to God.
Lord Vishnu is called Venkateshwara
It is said about this temple that it is built on the seven peaks of Meruparvat, its seven peaks are said to symbolize the seven hoods of Sheshnag. These peaks are called Seshadri, Niladri, Garudadri, Anjanadri, Vrishtadri, Narayanadri and Vyankatadri. Out of these, Lord Vishnu is seated on the peak named Vyankatadri and for this reason he is known as Vyankateshwara.
Lord Venkateswara is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. It is believed that Lord Vishnu resided for some time on the banks of the lake named Swami Pushkarni.
Only on Fridays there are darshan of the entire idol.
Balaji has darshan thrice a day in the temple. The first darshan is called Vishwaroop, which occurs in the morning. The second darshan takes place in the afternoon and the third darshan at night. The entire idol of Lord Balaji can be seen only on Friday mornings at the time of Abhishek.
