The statement of former Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) Devraj Nagar was recorded on Tuesday in the case of fake arms license of interstate gang leader and mafia Mukhtar Ansari. Appearing in the court of Special Judge Prevention of Corruption Act, the retired IPS said that his signature on the verification report of the arms license is forged. The next hearing of the matter will be on March 13. Statements of other witnesses will also be recorded.
Mafia Mukhtar Ansari is accused of obtaining arms license with the help of fake recommendation and signature of the then DM and SP of Ghazipur. This matter is 36 years old. Then Devraj Nagar was the SP of Ghazipur. The hearing of this case is going on in the court of Varanasi.
