GandhinagarA high level meeting was held at Raj Bhavan, Gandhinagar under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Modi chaired a meeting on Monday night on the Morbi bridge collapse issue and asked officials to extend all possible help to those affected by the incident. In this meeting, the Prime Minister was briefed about the relief and rescue operations at the site, an official said. In this meeting, it has been decided to observe statewide mourning in Gujarat on the next date, November 2, to mourn those killed in the Morbi tragedy.

Bhupendra Patel further said that the national flag will remain half-masted on November 2 at government buildings in the state and no government public function, reception or entertainment program will be held.
The meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was attended by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi, Chief Secretary Pankaj Kumar and Gujarat Director General of Police (DGP) Ashish Bhatia and other top officials.
