District Judge Santosh Rai has ordered Mukhtar Ansari’s brother-in-law Atif alias Sarjeel Raza to be kept in judicial custody for 10 days in a money laundering case. Earlier, on November 15, the court, accepting the ED’s custody application, had again ordered to be kept in ED’s custody for a week. This period was ending on Monday.
The ED filed an application seeking acceptance of judicial custody for 14 days. Advocate Om Prakash Mishra appeared on behalf of the ED. Accepting judicial custody for ten days, the court issued an order to appear in the court on December 1.
The court said that due to the same crime number, both the accused Abbas and Atif should be produced before the court on the same day. That’s why the court accepted judicial custody for 10 days instead of the demand of 14 days. During this, government advocate Gulab Chandra Agrahari was also present.
