For the first time major action has been taken in the matter of collision of a crane with the engine of Rajdhani Express near Jhingura railway crossing in Mirzapur district of UP. Railway has suspended the senior section engineer and technician. The accused crane driver and supervisor in the case have already been sent to jail. The accident is currently being investigated by the railway safety team. After the report comes, many more people may be affected.
Sealdah-New Delhi Rajdhani Express (Train No. 12314) collided with a crane near Jhingura railway crossing on the evening of January 13. The pilot applied the emergency brake in time, which averted a major accident. After hitting the train, a part of the crane hit the OHE, breaking the wire as well as a pole.
Following the collision with the crane, the engine of the train was damaged and operations on the up and down lines were affected. The RPF team has arrested the crane driver and supervisor in the case and sent them to jail after being found guilty. Now Railway’s Senior Section Engineer KP Mishra and Technician Dharamveer have been suspended.
