Cricketer missing from Meerut’s Gandhi Bagh, fear of kidnapping

Vinuj, a player who came to Gandhibagh to practice cricket, went missing on Thursday. The relatives first searched for him, but could not find any clue. After this, expressing the apprehension of kidnapping, filed a complaint in the police station. Sadar Bazar police has registered a case. Police is investigating the CCTV camera footage.

Like everyday, on Thursday also Vinuj (16) had come from his village Bahadarpur Sardhana to Gandhi Bagh Meerut cricket stadium to practice cricket with his friend Lakhan, a resident of Kankarkheda Defense Colony. After practice, he himself sent Lakhan to his house, saying that he would go home, but he himself did not reach home. His call was received on elder brother Sunny’s mobile at around 4 pm, but he could not receive it due to some reason. Since then his mobile switch off is coming. Sadar Bazar police station in-charge Dev Singh Rawat says that the search is being done on the basis of CCTV footage and through surveillance.

Suspicious death of B.Tech student, took exam on Thursday, found dead in hostel room on Friday night

The dead body of RN Pandey (19), son of Rakesh Pandey, resident of Champaran Bihar, a first year student of B.Tech, was found at 9:00 pm on Friday night at Subharti University Hostel, NH-58, Meerut. On the information of the warden of the hostel, Jani police reached the spot. Police informed the student’s father after taking the dead body into custody and sending it to the post-mortem house.

According to the police, the examination of RN Pandey is going on. He also gave the exam on Thursday. The student had a phone conversation with his father on Thursday afternoon. In which the student talked about coming home after the end of the exam. Student’s father Rakesh Pandey is a teacher in Bihar. RN Pandey’s younger brother is doing BPharma Diploma in Jaipur. SO Jani Rajesh Kamboj told that even before the arrival of the police, the Subharti College administration had broken the lock of the hostel room, the video of which has been made available to the police.

Foam was coming out of the student’s mouth. Seeing the student’s body, the police are suspecting that he had consumed poisonous substance on Thursday. The gate of his room was locked from inside. When the gate of the room did not open throughout the day on Friday, the students of the hostel informed the warden about it. Then the latch was broken. SSP Rohit Singh Sajwan says that the cause of death will be clear after the post mortem report comes on Saturday. In the preliminary investigation, it has come to light that he died by consuming poison.

The sweetness of jaggery reached Australia and USA from Bhamouri

In 2018, Sunil Kumar Fauji, a resident of Bhamouri village of Sardhana, took VRS from the army and decided to do farming. While cultivating sugarcane in 50 bigha farming, he started making jaggery by natural method on Kolhu. After two years, he set up his own jaggery plant at a cost of Rs 10 lakh. His jaggery and sugar in the form of sweets are now reaching countries like USA, Australia and Switzerland through NRIs.

Wow! Jaggery with a sweet taste…

Keeping in view the preferences of the people, Sunil prepared jaggery with flavors of gourd, carrot, amla, and dry fruits. Jaggery with these four flavors is most in demand. Sunil is now preparing vinegar and pickles along with jaggery.

He says that he has formed a group of farmers, all of them grow sugarcane of the old variety, use organic fertilizers. Any officer-farmer who reached his jaggery stall, kept the jaggery in his mouth and said… wow, this is jaggery like a sweet.

Sugarcane-laden buffalo-buggy overturned due to truck collision, farmer died

A truck rammed into the buffalo buggy of a farmer carrying a buffalo buggy full of sugarcane at 4:30 am from Loiya village in Daurala, Meerut to the Daurala Sugar Mill. The farmer died due to the overturning of the buffalo buggy. Police reached the information and sent the dead body of the farmer for postmortem. Whereas, the farmer used to shop in the Sakoti Mill market. On getting information about the death of the farmer, the traders expressed grief by closing their establishments.


Adesh Kumar (35), a resident of Loiya village, was going to Daurala Sugar Mill by filling sugarcane in a buffalo buggy from his farm at 4:30 am on Saturday. On reaching in front of Walidpur village, a truck coming from behind hit the buffalo buggy. Due to which, the buffalo buggy filled with sugarcane overturned and the farmer got buried under it. After the incident, the driver fled from the spot with the truck. Adesh died on the spot after being buried under the buffalo buggy. On information, the police somehow pulled out the body from the bottom and sent it for postmortem. The police informed the relatives of the deceased. On getting the information, there was chaos among the family members. The two children of the deceased are 8 years and 12 years.

Shivam Mavi won the lottery, sold for six crores

Shivam Mavi, a resident of Seena village, was sold for 15 times the base price in the IPL mini-auction held in Kochi. His base price was Rs 40 lakhs, after 42 bids he was bought by Gujarat Titans for Rs 6 crores. Five players of Meerut were disappointed.

Meerut’s Shivam Mavi, who started his career with the Kolkata Knight Riders team in the 2018 IPL, has made a place on the basis of his performance. For the first time in 2018, he was bought by Kolkata for Rs 3 crore. After playing in the Kolkata team for four consecutive years, in 2022 itself, the same team bought him for Rs 7 crore 25 lakh. But Kolkata had released him. Even on Friday, his first bid was made by Kolkata Knight Riders. Starting from 40 lakhs, after 42 bids, he was bought by Gujarat Titans with a final bid of Rs 6 crores. His father Pankaj Mavi told that Shivam was born in Sina village of Meerut. In 2000, he came to Noida and started living. Shivam’s entry is also from Noida. He said that the amount of 1.25 crore is definitely less than last year, but it is a matter of honor to be with this amount in IPL.

Five players of Meerut got disappointed

What was feared happened to Priyam Garg. Priyam Garg was associated with the Hyderabad Sunrisers team for three seasons of IPL. But Hyderabad continuously gave him opportunities, but his bat did not yield runs except one or two innings. His performance in Ranji and domestic cricket was not much better. Due to this he will have to sit out in IPL 2023. Left-handed batsman and bowler Saurabh Kumar also did not find a buyer. Their fans have been disappointed as both the senior players did not get a place in IPL 2023. International cricketer Mayank Agarwal is the costliest Indian player sold in IPL 2023. He was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 8.25 crore. Due to this there is a wave of happiness among the cricket lovers of Saharanpur. Please tell that Mayank is basically a resident of Saharanpur. His grandfather’s brother’s family lives here. He was the captain of Kings XI Punjab in IPL 2022.

Mayank Agarwal first became a part of the Indian team in the year 2019 World Cup. He was given a place in the team in place of Vijay Shankar. Since then he has played many international cricket series and is doing consistently well. Talking about Mayank’s cricket career, he has played several Ranji Trophy matches for Karnataka. Apart from this, he has been a part of the Royal Challenger team in IPL. Several times opened the innings in IPL matches with Chris Gayle. Mayank’s father Anurag Agarwal has also played cricket till the inter-university level.

Talking about Mayank’s association with Saharanpur, Mayank Agarwal’s grandfather Ravindra Agarwal used to do business in Saharanpur till 1996. Later he shifted to Bangalore. His brother, while other family members stayed back in Saharanpur, runs an industry called Indian Herbs and lives in a housing development. As long as Mayank’s grandfather’s brother Sushil Agarwal was alive, Mayank kept coming to Saharanpur continuously. He has also come to Saharanpur many times with his wife, but after the death of Sushil Agarwal, his visits to Saharanpur have become very less.

Mohammad Akram Saifi, director of Saharanpur District Cricket Association, who was associated with BCCI, has expressed happiness over Mayank becoming the costliest player. He says that Mayank is the best batsman. Former Ranji player Sanjeev Jakhmola has expressed happiness over Mayank. He says that it is a matter of pride for the residents of Saharanpur.
