A major accident took place on Friday in the cold storage of former BSP MLA Chandraveer Singh in Daurala area of Meerut district. It was told that the boiler in the cold storage exploded, due to which gas leaked and the entire roof was blown away. According to sources, five laborers died, while 50-60 laborers were injured. However, the official death toll has not been confirmed yet.
It was told that some laborers got buried under the debris and some fainted due to leakage, who are being admitted to Meerut Hospital.
Former BSP MLA Chandraveer Singh has a cold storage in the name of Shiv Shakti in Daurala. According to the police, the boiler exploded in the cold store at 3:30 pm on Friday. Due to which ammonia gas leaked in the entire cold store. Some workers were injured due to gas leakage. Meanwhile, the roof of the cold storage was also blown away, in which dozens of laborers were buried under the debris.
