MumbaiMaharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Monday informed the state assembly that a delegation would meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi to demand classical language status for Marathi. Shinde assured the House about this ahead of the budget session of the state assembly.
The chief minister said, “A delegation of legislators will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi with a request to accord classical language status to Marathi. Along with the officials, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and I will meet the Prime Minister and demand action on this.
