The CBI, which is probing the Kanpur businessman Manish Gupta murder case, has sought the names of all the officers and policemen who went to the medical college on the night of his death. The CBI has sought the details of the night of 27 September 2021 and the next day from the Gorakhpur police. Along with this, a certified copy of the activities of the control room and the general diary of five police stations has also been sought.
It is reported that its hearing is to be held in the Delhi High Court on March 3, in this regard the CBI is making preparations. CBI Lucknow CO MK Jaiswal has sent a letter in this regard to Gorakhpur SSP. The CO has asked through a letter that on the night of September 27, 2021, when the Ramgarhtal police had gone to BRD Medical College with the injured Manish, which other officers had arrived. The names and mobile phone numbers of the police and administration officers present at that time have been sought.
Along with giving information about the instructions issued on September 28, 2021, the police control room has also been asked to give a certified copy of the log book. On behalf of the CBI, the CO has also sought certified copies of the General Diary (GD) of Ramgarhtal, Cantt, Shahpur, Chiluatal and Gulriha police stations dated September 27, September 28 and September 29.
Gorakhpur police is preparing information on each point so that it can be made available to the CBI. It is being told that this entire exercise took place after Meenakshi, wife of businessman Manish Gupta, raised questions. Meenakshi has sent an application to the CBI accusing it of not investigating many facts in the investigation. After this, the CBI team is further investigating this episode.

Kanpur businessman Manish Gupta, who reached Gorakhpur with his friends on 27 September 2021, was staying at the Krishna Palace Hotel in Ramgarhtal police station area. It is alleged that the police, who reached Manish’s room at around 12 o’clock in the night, first misbehaved with Manish. Then thrashed so badly that Manish died. Manish’s wife had lodged an FIR in this case against six policemen including Jagat Narayan Singh, Inspector Akshay Mishra, Rahul Mishra, the then SHO of Ramgarhtal police station. The CBI deliberated and filed a charge sheet and then the CBI court made only Jagat Narayan accused of murder. The others were not considered accused of murder. Only after this, wife Meenakshi has complained.
