A total of 13 candidates have filed nominations for the by-election to Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat. Thursday was the last day for nominations. On the last day, a total of 10 candidates including the candidate of Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party (Subhaspa) filed nomination papers. At the same time, for SP candidate Dimple Yadav, her supporters filed two more sets of nomination papers.
From November 10 to 17, the nomination process for the Lok Sabha by-election went on for a total of eight days. Till Wednesday, only SP candidate Dimple Yadav, BJP candidate Raghuraj Singh Shakya and Bharatiya Krishak Dal candidate Pramod Yadav had filed their nomination papers. On the other hand, on Thursday, the last day of nomination, a large number of party and independent candidates reached for nomination. Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party’s authorized candidate Ramakant Kashyap filed nomination papers in two sets.
Eight other candidates also filed their nominations for the by-election. Urmila Devi, Bhupendra Dhangar, Vidyavati Gautam, Sunil Mishra, Sushma Devi, Maniratan, Maheshchandra and Virendra Verma were included in this. A total of 13 candidates have filed nominations on the last day.
On Thursday itself, the supporters of SP candidate Dimple Yadav filed two more sets of nomination papers. Proponent Ramnarayan Batham and Advocate AH Hashmi reached the Collectorate and filed these nomination papers. Earlier on November 14, Dimple Yadav filed nomination papers in two sets.
The scrutiny of all the nomination papers filed from November 10 to November 17 started from Friday. Nomination papers which are not found valid in the scrutiny will be cancelled. Its list will be pasted at the District Election Officer’s office after completion of the work. Even if the nomination is found correct, there will be a chance for further withdrawal.
