Mainpuri By-Election Result: Mulayam was not there, yet he continues to impress, Dimple created new history in Mainpuri

For decades, a political slogan has been echoing in the streets of Mainpuri Lok Sabha constituency. This was the slogan whose charm is intact, his name is Mulayam. After the demise of Mulayam, there was a dilemma regarding this slogan that if Netaji is no more, will the wave continue. But the mandate given to the SP on the soil of Dhartiputra proved that even though Mulayam Singh is not a Yadav, his influence is still there.

Mainpuri, the bastion of SP which no one has been able to win since the formation of Samajwadi Party till now. The Samajwadi Party has been holding this Lok Sabha seat since 1996. Even though the by-election was fought without Netaji Mulayam Singh Yadav, SP fought this election in the name of Netaji. In every public meeting, SP National President Akhilesh Yadav and candidate Dimple Yadav appealed to the public to pay homage to Netaji. The voters of Mainpuri also retained both the respect and charm of their leader.

The victory of SP candidate Dimple Yadav has made it clear that even though Mulayam Singh Yadav is no more today, his influence is still there. The love and faith of the people of Mainpuri on Netaji continues even today. Opposition parties will have to work harder to break the SP’s cycle in Mainpuri.

In the 2019 elections, SP and BSP contested the Lok Sabha elections in alliance. Even after this, the victory figure of Mulayam Singh remained below one lakh. After Mulayam’s death, his daughter-in-law Dimple Yadav was fielded by the SP. Dimple got such a huge mandate that the victory figure was almost three times that of the general election.

SP candidate Dimple Yadav has defeated BJP candidate Raghuraj Singh Shakya with a huge margin of 2.88 lakh votes. Dimple along with SP National President Akhilesh Yadav took the certificate of victory by reaching the counting place.
