Maharashtra ATS arrested Jharkhand's 15 lakh rewarded Maoist leader


Maharashtra News: In an operation in Nala Sopara on Sunday morning, a team of Maharashtra ATS raided a chawl in Dhanvi, Ramnagar, Nalasopara (E) and detained Karu Hulas Yadav. . Karu Yadav, a member of the regional committee of the banned CPI (Maoist) in Jharkhand, had gone to Maharashtra for his treatment.

Karu Hulas Yadav, 45, originally from village Dodga, Tehsil Katkamsandi, Hazaribagh district, Jharkhand, was active in the CPI (Maoist) since 2004 and had a reward of Rs 15 lakh on his head. He had come to Maharashtra for treatment. More than 30 cases are registered against him. After taking him into custody, Maharashtra ATS said that Jharkhand Police has been informed about the operation and further investigation is on.

Top Maoist leader was arrested in Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh Police had arrested a top Maoist leader in Alluri Sitarama Raju district in the month of July this year. After the leader’s arrest, 60 members of the banned organization CPI (Maoist) also surrendered in fear.

Alluri Sitarama Raju’s superintendent of police Satish Kumar had told that the arrested Maoists were the secretary of Vanthala Rama Krishna Kshetra Samiti and were involved in the murder of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA Kidari Sarveswara Rao and former MLA Siveri Soma in Araku in 2017 .

39 lakh in cash was recovered from the arrested leader. Apart from this, 5 kg of landmine, five detonators, battery, a 9 mm pistol and ammunition were also seized from him. According to the information given by the police, the arrested Maoist leader was accused of 14 murders and was involved in a total of 124 cases including police encounters, landmine blasts and arson 13 times.
