The carcass of a leopard was found adjacent to Dhanhiya Reta forest room number M 26 of Valmiki Tiger Reserve bordering Shivpur unit of Sohgibarwa Wildlife Division. At the same time, the body of a tiger buried in the soil was found in the sugarcane field, about 200 meters from Rampurwa village.
Chief Conservator of Forests Dr Nisha Mani told that there is a high possibility of electrocuting the tiger. Because, where the tiger has been killed, the electric wire has gone over it. He was buried in the soil in the sugarcane field. Information about the reasons for the death of the tiger will be available only after the post-mortem. In the past also tigers and leopards have died due to the laying of wire by poachers.
