Mafia Mukhtar’s MLA son Abbas arrested: ED presented in Prayagraj court, sent on seven-day remand A to Z Counsel

Earlier, on behalf of the ED, Assistant Director Saurabh Kumar submitted the custody remand application before the court. ED’s advocate Om Prakash Mishra demanded to send the accused to 14-day custody remand. Argued that he is accused in two cases of possessing disproportionate assets. Whose FIR has been registered in Ghazipur and Mau. District Government Advocate Gulab Chandra Agrahari told that a land was forcibly acquired in Ghazipur against the accused and a warehouse was made on it. An FIR has been registered in the case under IPC sections 419, 420, 433, 467, 468, 120B and 3/4 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002. ED is probing the matter. The case is more than 15 crores, 31 lakhs.

The ED is yet to get a lot of evidence in this case. If handed over to the ED’s custody remand, then important information related to the case can be obtained.
Whereas, it was opposed by the defense side. It was said that he should also be provided with all the documents related to the case, so that he can file a reply on behalf of the accused. He also sought exemption to meet the advocate. Before the hearing, Abbas Ansari was brought to the court amid tight security arrangements by the police. A large number of police forces were brought during this period. After which his case was heard.

District Judge Santosh Rai has sent MLA Abbas Ansari, son of Bahubali Mukhtar Ansari, to Enforcement Directorate (ED) custody remand in the case of possessing disproportionate assets. The court has said that the ED can keep the MLA on his custody remand from 5 pm on November 5 to 2 pm on November 12. During this medical facilities will be provided to him and there will be no harassment of any kind. Along with this the accused can approach his advocate but the advocate will not interfere in the action of ED.
