The administration and traffic police have set a target of freeing six major intersections from jams before Holi. These include Ahimamau, Awadh, Polytechnic, Dubagga Square, Charbagh and Kamta Tiraha. In the first phase of ADCP Traffic Ajay Kumar, the focus will be on Ahimamau, Awadh and Polytechnic intersection. The temporary work here will be completed by Saturday. After this, improvement will be done in Dubagga, Kamta and Charbagh.
The ADCP said that there is a plan to make Ahimamau a model crossroads. Blinkers will be installed here on interceptors, islands with modern facilities, white stripes and zebra lines. Traffic policemen will be deployed in three shifts. There will be CCTV cameras on every road coming to the intersection. It will be monitored from the traffic headquarters. A speedo meter will also be installed at the intersection.
PWD will reduce the width of dividers by inspecting all the six intersections. Road engineering will improve. Unnecessary cuts will be discontinued. The circle between the island and the park will be reduced between the intersection. The poles in the middle of the intersection and the surrounding roads and at the turn will be removed. The width of the roads will be increased. Shine edges will be installed 50 meters before the intersection and at the intersection. Arrangements are also being made to install display screens at major intersections to show the speed.
Left turn will be made at Awadh Chauraha
PWD shared the action plan to the Divisional Commissioner to ease the traffic at Awadh Chauraha. Officials told that apart from the left turn at the intersection, work will be done on giving additional width. Apart from this, necessary changes will also be made in the divider. The Divisional Commissioner has also asked to prepare an action plan for the Polytechnic and Ahmamau Crossroads.
