A case of cheating of Rs 79 lakh has come to light from Manoj Sharma, a retired armyman and businessman resident of PGI’s Haiwatmau Mawaiya. It is alleged that the fraudster had posed as a personal advisor to the Chief Minister and had given the pretext of making him a partner in a firm set up for mining. The victim has filed a case at Gomtinagar police station.
According to Inspector-in-Charge Dinesh Chandra Mishra, Manoj told that a few days ago he had met Inder Bahadur Singh of Bijnor. He had described himself as a personal advisor to the Chief Minister. Also told that he has now become the private secretary to the Chief Minister.
In November 2018, the accused made Manoj meet Tej Bahadur Rai. Which claimed to run Rameshwar minus. He told that there is about eight bighas of land in Khalilabad. Efforts are being made to allot commercial projects from housing development. This requires a huge amount of money.
On the pretext of becoming a partner of the mining firm, the thugs grabbed Rs 79 lakh from Manoj. On discovering the fraud, the victim asked for the money back, then the thugs gave two checks of Rs 20 lakh each which bounced. On applying pressure, Indra Bahadur and Tej Bahadur called Shail Kumar and told him the judge. According to the information, Tej Bahadur Rai was arrested by the team of Delhi Crime Branch from Lucknow in 2017. The accused had extorted Rs 86 crore by cheating partner Ashwini Dewan.
