Some more information came to the fore during the investigation of the police on Sunday in the murder case of Divya Upadhyay of Sahibabad. Live-in partner Raman Gurjar, accused of murder, told during interrogation that he did not want Divya to give birth to another child. He has a two year old daughter. As soon as he came to know that Divya was pregnant, he asked her to get an abortion. She did not agree to this. Controversy started on this. He said that after the second marriage, he had prepared to separate from Divya. In such a situation, there could be a problem in separation if there is a second child. After marriage, he felt that there was no other option left except murder.
Divya’s father Umesh says that after giving birth to a daughter in 2020, daughter Divya became pregnant in 2021 as well. They have also got the documents of her ultrasound.
Raman had aborted the child. After this, again in 2022, when she was three months pregnant, he was pressurizing Divya to have an abortion, for which she refused.
Divya’s mother Bitto said that between May 3 and 12, Raman had reached the Vasundhara flat with his uncle and sister. Uncle Gajendra had given 10 thousand rupees to Raman for abortion.
The post mortem report of Divya’s dead body also revealed that she was three months pregnant. Raman killed Divya on 18 May. Earlier on May 3, he had married another girl.
