On the occasion of Makar Sankranti in Gorakhpur, there was a flood of faith in the Gorakhnath temple on Sunday. On this occasion, the process of offering khichdi to Baba Gorakhnath started by lakhs of devotees who came from all over the country. To offer khichdi to Guru Gorakhnath, Gorakshpeethadhishwar Yogi Adityanath came down from his residence at 4 am in the Brahma Muhurta and entered the main temple of Guru Gorakhnath. During this, after worshiping with rituals, he first offered khichdi to Guru Gorakhnath from the side of the temple. After that Khichdi was offered to the royal family of Nepal.
After this, the saints, priests etc. of the temple offered khichdi. After that reached the mausoleum of Gorakshpeethadhishwar Brahmalin Mahant Digvijaynath and Mahant Avedyanath and took blessings by worshiping according to law.
After the worship of Gorakshpeethadhishwar, the doors of the temple were opened for the general devotees. As soon as the doors of the temple opened, the entire temple area resounded with the chants of Guru Gorakhnath and the chants of Har Har Mahadev. There was a long queue of devotees outside the temple. Devotees keep offering khichdi of faith to Baba Gorakhnath one by one.
After offering khichdi to Guru Gorakshanath, Gorakshpeethadhishwar and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath while wishing the people of the state on Makar Sankranti said that Makar Sankranti is a great festival of sun worship. This festival is celebrated in different forms in the country. In Gorakhpur, Gorakhnath is offered Khichdi of faith. Lakhs of devotees are coming here to offer their faith. Today thousands of years old tradition was followed by offering khichdi.
The Chief Minister said that Makar Sankranti is also a festival of zeal and enthusiasm of the farmers. Donating or offering Khichdi on this occasion shows that when the farmer produces food with hard work, he donates it to his favorite. Khichdi is also a digestible food, when digestion process is affected in Sheetlahari, one can take it as medicine.
