It would have been better to file an FIR on Thursday morning or on a case-by-complaint basis. Officials gave the information that MLA’s son would have been able to file an FIR on the basis of his complaint, if he had demanded Rs 81 lakh from the person. After this the Lokayukta officers raided Prashant’s house. 6 crore cash was found at that place and it has been seized.
For accepting the tender, Prashant would have had to pay Rs.81 lakh. Or accepting a bribe of 40 lakhs, he was caught red-handed in his office. Prashant has been taken into custody by the Lokayukta. In this case, investigation and action on papers is going on.
Legislators will be investigated
Karnataka Soap and Detergent Limited (KSDL) has filed a complaint against the acceptance of tender for providing raw material. Prashant’s father is MLA K. Madal Virupakshappa is the chairman of KSDL. Because of this, the Lokayukta officer will investigate them only, such a possibility is being expressed. The reason is the allegation that the MLA’s son was caught taking bribe on behalf of the father.
MLA’s son Prashant was caught, but cash worth Rs 1.2 crore has been seized from the MLA’s office, this information has been given by the Lokayukta.
Chief Minister Bommai’s reaction
The MLA’s son has come to raid the Lokayukta. Lokayukta has been re-implemented to check corruption in the state. In the absence of Lokayukta, many cases of corruption came to the fore during Congress rule and they were closed, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai. There will be a free and fair inquiry. Our main goal is to educate the guilty. Lokayukta has all the information. So whose money is it and where is it coming. Everything will come out after investigation, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
