The historic Ganga Mela of Kanpur was organized on Monday in Anuradha Nakshatra. According to tradition, a cart of colors came out from Rajjanbabu Park in Hatia. People played Holi with full of colors. The atmosphere at the Ganga Mela was on cloud nine. Everyone was drenched in colors and gulal. As the colorful cart was moving towards the streets of the city, in the same way, the intoxication of color was speaking on everyone’s head.
The sprinkling of colors from the roofs of the houses left no stone unturned to drench the children and elders involved in the Ganga Mela. The center of attraction was the buffalo cart and 6 camels. At the same time, Ganga Mela was inaugurated by DM Kanpur Visakhji, Police Commissioner BP Jogdand, MLA Amitabh Bajpai, BJP leader Suresh Awasthi, MLC MLA Salil Vishnoi by offering flowers on the inscription of martyr revolutionaries.
At the same time, the tune of the national anthem amidst the police band filled everyone with patriotism. Then the DM and the Police Commissioner waved the tricolor and sent off the colored cart. When this colorful cart came out of Rajjanbabu Park and walked in the streets of the city, the enthusiasm and enthusiasm of the Horiyars was seen on the seventh sky. Everyone looked desperate to bathe each other completely with color and gulal.

The color cart proceeded via Generalganj market, Maniram Bagiya, Meston Road, Chowk Sarrafa, Kotwali Chowhara. The 50 drums filled with colors drenched the body of everyone involved in the Ganga Mela.
Along with the color, flowers were also raining from the roofs of the houses on the people walking with the color cart in the streets. The colored cart traveled six to seven km through the streets of the city. Also decided the distance.
Competition to break 40 feet pot
A 40-feet colored pot hanging in Birhana Road amidst the colorful cart was the center of attraction for the people. The youth first saw the craze of breaking the pot. The youth fell many times while trying to break the matki by making gangs.
