STF’s Lucknow unit on Saturday nabbed two smugglers with eight and a half kilos of charas near Makanpur Mod in Bilhaur. A fellow absconded with one and a half kilos of charas. The accused used to bring charas from Bihar and supply it in the city and surrounding districts. Eight and a half kilos of charas is said to be worth about 45 lakhs.

Lucknow STF Deputy SP Avnishwar Chandra Srivastava said that information was being received about inter-state smugglers bringing charas from Bihar. On information on Saturday, the team caught two smugglers near Makanpur turn. They have been identified as Raja Masoodi, resident of Bilhaur Sardarpatel Nagar and Dilip Kumar, resident of Teluha, Nautankhas police station, Bettiah district of Bihar. Eight and a half kilos of charas, a mobile and a locket have been recovered from them in 17 packets. Dilip told that this goods was given to him by Guddu Khan, a resident of Bettiah, to be given to Raja Masoodi.
