Pimpri : The incident of cheating of eight lakh 90 thousand from two women on the pretext of online job took place between February 21 and March 4 in Pimpri-Chinchwad’s Thergaon. A 35-year-old woman has lodged a complaint in this regard at Wakad Police Station. Accordingly, a case has been registered against a woman speaking by the name of Kanika Chauhan.
According to the police, the accused woman called up the complainant woman and promised her an online resume job in Leo Burnett Media Group Company. After winning their trust, he was forced to deposit Rs 8 lakh 25 thousand online in various accounts through PhonePe. He also duped a woman of Kalate Nagar for Rs 65,000 without giving her a job or refund, it has been said in the complaint. Wakad police is probing the matter.

After this he was sent a fake message that if the bill is not paid then the electricity will be disconnected. Forced to download a screen sharing app called Quick Sport via a link in the message. On the basis of that, the accused got the details of the bank account of the plaintiff and transferred one lakh 75 thousand 570 rupees from the bank account. Bhosari police is probing the matter.
