Nagpur. CBSE and State Board 12th exams will be taken from February. Students are busy preparing for the exam, but before that, JEE Main started from Tuesday for admission in equivalent institutions including engineering, NIT. Being the first phase of the exam, the students are taking it as a trial, but the questions asked in the exam are also assessing the ability of the students. This time the number of students giving JEE Main has increased. Especially the number of students from Maharashtra has increased in the examination. Maharashtra’s share in the total students is said to be around 12 percent.
The first phase examination by the National Testing Agency began on Tuesday. This exam is going to run till 1 February. Various centers have been set up for the examination in the city and rural areas. The exam is being taken in two phases. The exam is being conducted from 9 am to 12 noon and from 3 pm to 6 pm. Since the examination is online, centers have been given in such colleges or institutions, where there are adequate computer facilities. After this session, the second session of the exam will be held from 6 to 12 April.

Most of the students’ preparation for JEE Main is not complete. For this reason, the first stage exam is taken as practice. Students get the idea from the questions coming in it. In the exam of total 90 questions, 30-30-30 questions have been distributed for Physics, Chemistry and Maths. Students who took the exam in the evening session on Tuesday told that a lot of time was lost due to the calculation based questions being asked but giving the exam gave an idea about the kind of questions asked.
In fact, most of the centers for the examination have been given in colleges and institutions outside the city. This is the reason why parents as well as students have to give ‘examination’. Parents had to be active throughout the day to drop and pick up the child. Many parents kept waiting outside the centers for the examination to end. Students are being given admission in the center about a quarter of an hour before the examination. One has to reach the center by 7 am for the morning session.
