Indian language festival was celebrated on Sunday at Kashi Tamil Sangamam, running at the amphitheater ground of Banaras Hindu University (BHU). A rich glimpse of the cultural and linguistic diversity of the country was seen on the stage. Artists presented poetry recitation and singing, folk dance in 12 languages. The family of Subrahmanyam Bharati was felicitated, Dr. Jayanthi Murali made the program memorable by presenting the song of Mahakavi Bharatiyar.
Indian Language Day is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of great poet Subramaniam Bharati. Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur, chief guest at the program organized at BHU Amphitheater ground, said that a glimpse of India is visible in the philosophy of Mahakavi Bharatiyar, so it is not possible to know India without knowing his philosophy.

Minister of State for Fisheries and Animal Husbandry and Information and Broadcasting Dr. L. Murugan said that the relationship between Kashi and Tamil Nadu is unfolding wonderfully in the form of Kashi Tamil Sangamam.
