Rescued Indian National From Myanmar: The Ministry of External Affairs said on Thursday that 32 Indians who were “illegally held hostage” in Myanmar have been safely evacuated, while all efforts are on to release the rest. The ministry also suggested to be aware of such companies luring Indian citizens for jobs. Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said, “As far as the Indians held hostage in the Myavadi region of southeast Myanmar are concerned, we are aware that IT companies in Thailand recruit Indians for employment. and who are taken to Myanmar.
Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi further said that there are reports of some of them going illegally. He said that every effort is being made to help the stranded recruits in Myanmar and contact has been maintained with them. Many people have been evacuated safely due to our efforts. So far 32 people have come out. Also said that we are trying our best to help. Indian citizens should be wary of companies luring jobs. “Our missions in Myanmar and Thailand have issued advisories and we are in touch with them,” he said.
What is the matter?
The Indian embassy in Myanmar said two days ago that many of the “illegally held hostage” Indians in Myanmar have been rescued, despite security challenges and other legal and traffic problems. All possible efforts are being made to release the rest. The Indian embassy’s statement came at a time when there were reports of 300 Indians being held hostage by a gang in Myanmar, most of them from Tamil Nadu.

Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan had tweeted on Tuesday that he had spoken to Ambassador Vinay Kumar about the hostage-taking of Indians in Myanmar. He had told, “The ambassador briefed about the developments and told that all efforts are being made to get all the Indians released at the earliest.” The mission is keeping a close watch on the matter. ,

CM M.K. Stalin wrote the letter
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Wednesday sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s intervention to rescue and bring back Indians who were “illegally taken hostage” in Myanmar. He had claimed that illegal work was being done forcibly from these Indians. CM M.K. Stalin, in a letter to PM Narendra Modi, had said that the state government has received information about about 300 Indians, including about 50 Tamils, stranded in Myanmar, who are facing a lot of difficulties.
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin had said that, “It has been learned that he had initially gone to Thailand for a job related to the IT (Information Technology) sector through a private recruitment agency. They are now believed to have been forcibly brought from Thailand to Myanmar to get illegal online jobs. They are being assaulted by employers for refusing to work.” He had said that the state government was in touch with 17 Tamils who “are eagerly waiting for the government’s help to save them”. ”
