Dhulia: Taluka Police laid a trap and unearthed illegal trade of Rajnigandha Pan Masala Gutkha and Tobacco. Seized goods worth 26 lakh including pan masala gutkha and tobacco along with the truck. Superintendent of Police Sanjay Barkund told this information in a press conference that the taluka police has taken action against the cultivation of hemp in Mandal. He also appreciated the performance of the police.
Police Inspector Dattatreya Shinde of Taluka Police Station received a tip-off that Rajnigandha Pan Masala Gutkha was being smuggled illegally on the Mumbai-Agra Highway via Dhulia. Accordingly the team laid a trap in the night and caught the truck in Arvi remote area. On inspection, Rajnigandha Pan Masala (Gutkha) and Tulsi tobacco were found in 12 sacks of white and khaki colour. In which Gutkha worth Rs 13 lakh 99 thousand 680, Rajnigandha Rs 155520, Tulsi Gutkha worth Rs 376320 and a truck worth Rs 7 lakh, thus seized capital goods worth Rs 26 lakh 31 thousand 500. Food and Drug Administration Department has been informed in this regard. A crime has been registered in this regard.
