On Sunday, the police conducted the post-mortem of the bodies. After this, both the dead bodies were brought from the post-mortem home to Mokshadham in Vanshivat of Vrindavan by Dr. Lakshmi Gautam, President of Kanakdhara Foundation. Both were cremated here late in the evening.
Social worker Dr. Laxmi Gautam, performing the duty of daughter, lit the pyre of both the women. Kotwali in-charge Suraj Prakash Sharma said that information was also sent to the concerned Tiket Ganj police station for information about Champa Devi’s residence in Lucknow, but her family could not be traced.
The family of Bihar resident Sushila refused to come here. After this, the police got both of them done post-mortem. Both were cremated in the presence of the police on Sunday evening.
It is said that both the women were living in Vrindavan for several days. She used to fill her stomach with prasad in the ashram during the day and slept on the pavement at night. The cause of death of both the women is not clear.
