Amidst all the confusion, Holikotsav started with Holika Dahan on Monday. In many areas Holika Dahan was done on Monday night, while in many areas people will burn Holika on Tuesday evening. On the other hand, in the areas where Holika Dahan has taken place, colors are being played on Tuesday, but very few people will come out.
It is believed that the brightness of Holi will be seen only on Wednesday. The Chaupatia Holi Baraat Committee took out a procession at 9.30 am, applying color to each other. The organization has also started on behalf of the Holikotsav Committee.

On behalf of the Rajabazar Holikotsav Committee, at 10 o’clock in the night, right outside the Mankameshwar temple, at 12.25 o’clock in the night, Mahant Devya Giri and other devotees burnt Holika. The three-day celebration of Holi started from Monday at Holikotsav Samiti Chowk. The cultural programs started at 6 pm.
Holika Dahan was done at 12.20 pm. The Chaupatia Holi Barat Committee lit the bonfire at 1.40 pm. President Manikant Pandey and General Secretary Riddhi Kishore Gaur told that the procession would start at 9.30 am. Holika Dahan was done at 9.30 pm under the leadership of Swami Muktinathananda at Ramakrishna Math in Niralanagar.
