The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court has ordered the state government to reinstate a constable who was dismissed from the police department on account of color blindness. Canceling the order of SP Ambedkar Nagar, the court has also directed the petitioner to pay fifty percent of the outstanding salary. Justice Brijraj Singh has given this order while hearing four other petitions including the petition of Jaunpur resident Yachi Om Prakash Chaudhary.

Yatchi’s advocate Himanshu Gautam told the court that Yatchi was appointed to the post of constable on September 1, 2006, after medical examination in the police department. After this he took training for nine months. He got posting in Ambedkar Nagar. In the order issued by the DGP in the year 2007, the Medical Board was issued an order for re-health examination of all the police personnel who were appointed between the years 2004 to 2007.
