High Court: Last chance for reply to Forest Department officials including Chief Secretary

The Allahabad High Court has given the Principal Secretary, Forest Department, Uttar Pradesh, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Court Case and Divisional Forest Officer, Pilibhit, a last chance of three weeks to respond to the notice. The next hearing of the petition will be on January 11. The court had issued notice asking why criminal contempt proceedings should not be initiated against him for interfering in judicial proceedings by willfully suppressing facts. Justice Ashwani Kumar Mishra has given this order on the petition of Mohan Swaroop Srivastava.

On behalf of the petitioner, the government protested against seeking time by not filing a reply, saying that a large number of employees were not getting their salaries. Giving time, the court said that the public prosecutor has assured to give the counter affidavit to the petitioner a week in advance. In this case, the High Court ordered to give the minimum pay scale to the daily wage workers working in the Forest Department under the direction of the Supreme Court in the Putti Lal case. The special appeal and SLP of the State Government against this order was dismissed. After 11 months, the state government filed a review petition in the High Court. Which was canceled on 23 March 21.

An application was filed to modify a paragraph of this order. In which wrong and false facts were given contrary to the documents approved by the government. The State Government accepted that as per rules, the petitioners are entitled for regularization due to continuity of service. On the contrary, it was stated that the petitioners were not in continuous service. Therefore, he is not entitled to get the minimum pay scale. Despite not getting relief till the Supreme Court, the officers of the Forest Department made false statements. Tried his best by lying to justify his work. The court said that action should be taken against such officers.
