These things were said by Dr. Laxmikant Ladukar, Secretary, International Society of Coloproctology (ISCP). He was addressing the pre-workshop of the 8th World Congress of the Society held at SR Hotel, Bodla on Thursday.

Dr. Laxmikant said that the trend of western civilization and western food has increased in the country. This is causing proctology disorders (enlargement of the rectum and anus). The youth working in the IT sector sit for 8 to 10 hours and are consuming fast food when they are hungry. In such a situation, they are facing the problem of Piles, Fissure, Fistula etc. The problem of disorder has also increased in pregnant women.

In the previous workshop, more than 300 delegates from India and abroad received training in modern techniques of surgery at SR Hospital, Namner and SN Medical College. Inauguration Chief Guest Union Minister Prof. SP Singh Baghel did it. He said that the influence of western food and lifestyle is reaching the villages. Special guest Dr. Prashant Gupta, Principal of SN Medical College said that students will get to learn a lot from this conference. Operations being done for 400 years

Dr. Laxmikant said that the operations of Piles and Fissure are being done here since 400 years. Bleeding was more in this and the patient had to stay in bed for a month. In such a situation, surgery was started 12 years ago with Chivte procedure. Dr. Shanti Kumar Chiwte, the father of Chiwte procedure, trained in the workshop. Told that in this process stitches are applied in such a way that the bleeding stops and after 48 hours the patient can return to work.
