Lightning struck a hut in Barmau village of Sikandrarau on Monday night. Due to lightning, a buffalo and a katra tied in it were burnt to death. The young man had bought a buffalo some time ago by taking a loan. He used to survive by selling its milk.

According to the villagers, it started raining heavily in the night. The clouds also started thundering. During this, celestial lightning was heard with a loud sound. A fire broke out when lightning struck the hut. By the time people came out of their houses, the flames started rising from the hut. Due to this, a buffalo tied in the hut and two katras were badly burnt.

Buffalo Swami Ramdayal told that some time back he had taken a buffalo by taking a loan. He used to earn his living by selling milk. There are only six girls, not even a single boy. Everything got burnt to ashes. The family members are crying bitterly after the incident of burning of buffalo and katra. District Panchayat member Umashankar Gupta, Animal Husbandry Department’s doctor, Lekhpal went to the spot and investigated. District Vice President of Gram Pradhan Sangathan Bablu Sisodia demanded the local administration to provide compensation to the victim.
