About 50 brick kilns are running against the rules in Hathras. Their complaint has reached NGT. The pollution control department and the district administration have now jointly raided these kilns. Preparations are being made for this.

About 150 to 200 brick kilns are operating in Hathras. In this, 111 brick kilns operate according to the rules by completing the paper process. There is a turnover of around Rs 100 crore in the whole year. About 30 thousand people get employment from these kilns.

This paperwork has to be completed
It is necessary to obtain permission from the Pollution Control Board for the operation of brick kilns. Permission is required from the mining department. Registration is required for GST. Apart from this, the amount is deposited every year in the District Panchayat. From there the certificate has to be taken. Then the brick kiln is operated.

Not even NOC from pollution control board
About 50 brick kilns are running illegally in the district. They do not even have NOC from the Pollution Control Board. This has been revealed after the complaint in NGT. After the complaint in NGT, the Pollution Control Board will jointly raid these kilns with the district administration soon. Apart from Hathras, there have been complaints in the NGT about kilns operating in Etah, Kasganj and Aligarh.

The price of the first brick was Rs 5500 per thousand. Due to the strike, the prices of bricks have increased by Rs 100 per thousand. Because of this it has become expensive to build a house for the common man.
