As soon as the winter season starts, a lot of tasty food items made from peas are made. Then the dish made of peas is wonderful. Green peas are full of nutrition. Many children may not eat matar ki sabzi but when it comes to matar ki tikki, they eat it with great gusto.

Matar Tikki is not only amazing in taste, but it is also very easy to make. And it gets ready in less time. Let’s learn the simple recipe for making matar ki tikki.

Green peas – 2 cups

Potato – 3-4

Bread crumbs – 1/2 cup

Ginger chopped – 1 tsp

Green chili chopped – 1

Black pepper powder – 1/4 tsp

Garam masala – 1/4 tsp

Chaat masala – 1/2 tsp

Green coriander – 2-3 tbsp

Lemon juice – 1 tsp

oil – as required

salt – as per taste

To make Matar Tikki, first peel the peas. After this, heat water in a vessel and boil it by adding peas. After this, take out the peas from the water and keep them in a bowl. Now boil the potatoes and after that peel off the potatoes and put them in the mixing bowl and mash them well. After this, mash the peas as well and add it to the potatoes and mix both of them well to prepare the mixture.

Now add bread crumbs and salt as per taste to this mixture and mix well. Then put all the spices including finely chopped green chillies, ginger in the mixture and mix it properly. Finally add coriander leaves and lemon juice. The masala for matar ki tikki is ready. Now take a little bit of the masala in your hand and first make a ball out of it. After that give them the shape of Tikki and keep them in a plate. Similarly make all the matar tikkis.

Take a nonstick pan/griddle and heat it on medium heat. When the tawa becomes hot, pour 1 tsp oil on it and spread it all around. After this roast the matar tikkis on it according to the capacity of the griddle. After roasting for some time, flip the tikki and roast it from the other side. In the same way, fry the tikki until its color turns golden from both the sides and the tikki becomes crispy. After this, take out the Matar Tikki in a plate. Similarly bake all the matar tikkis. Now serve hot matar tikki with tomato sauce or green chutney.
