Dengue cases are increasing continuously in Gorakhpur district. In the midst of all this, such patients are also being found, who have symptoms of dengue, but their report is coming negative in the investigation. Doctors are treating patients as non-dengue viral syndrome. The number of such patients is continuously increasing. Hundreds of such patients are admitted from District Hospital to BRD Medical College and private hospitals.

Dr. Amresh Singh, Head of the Department of Microbiology, BRD Medical College said that in the last two days, more than 180 patients have been tested for dengue. Out of these, about 80 patients have been found of dengue. But, around 100 patients have found low platelets as well as their total leukocyte count (TLC) is also found to be very low. But, the report of such patients has come negative.

This is more worrying. Because, such patients are treating themselves as negative. Whereas, it is more dangerous for them. This is the reason why doctors are treating him as non-dengue viral syndrome. If such patients are negligent in treatment then their life can also be lost. Therefore, if the platelets and TLC report are coming down, then take the medicine only on the advice of the doctor.

The number of such patients coming to the emergency of the district hospital has also increased within the last one week. Physician of the district hospital, Dr. Rajesh Kumar said that three to four fever patients are coming every day, whose platelet count is less than 25 thousand. Whereas, the report of TLC, a marker of infection, is also coming down below two thousand. Whereas, TLC health should be at least 10 thousand in a person. There is a need to admit such patients. Their dengue report is getting negative.

Increasing numbers in BRD
The number of fever patients in the emergency of BRD Medical College is increasing continuously. More than 300 patients are coming to OPD every day for fever. Of these, 20 to 25 percent of patients are of non-dengue viral syndrome. Whereas, 15 to 20 percent patients are getting dengue. Symptoms of malaria, viral fever are being found in other patients. Talking about emergency, there is a need to admit 10 to 12 fever patients every day. Of these, only three to four patients are getting dengue, while in other patients the symptoms are of dengue, but the report is coming negative.

These areas of the city are more affected by dengue
The number of dengue patients has increased rapidly in the city. Within the last five years, the maximum number of dengue patients have been found this year. Talking about the city, there are Kalibari, Basantpur, Nizampur, Dargahiya, Hansupur, Narsinghpur, Mahewa, Turkmanpur, Rasulpur, Diwan Bazar, Sheikhpur, Sahabganj, Bettiahata and Bichiya Colony of Railways. Most of the patients have been found at these places.

Spraying on paper, patients spread
After the rain in October, the health department launched a communicable disease campaign. Under the campaign, instructions were given by the top officials for spraying in the dengue affected areas. But, the department looted the accolades by spraying it in the papers itself. Amidst all this, dengue spread rapidly in the city. The situation has become such that in a big private hospital in Gorakhnath area, about 60 patients are admitted for dengue. Apart from this, more than 100 hospitals of the city are also treating such patients.
