Gorakhpur News: Power cut in ICU of BRD Medical College, patient died

On the death of a patient admitted in the ICU of the Medicine Department of BRD Medical College, the relatives have created ruckus and accused negligence. Relatives allege that the patient was fine on Tuesday morning and was walking. Suddenly he was admitted to ICU. During this he was given oxygen, suddenly there was a power cut and after some time the patient died.

According to the information, Kartaram Singh (45), a resident of Tadwa village of Madanpur police station in Deoria district, was having tremors. On December 3, the relatives admitted for treatment. The patient’s cousin Bholu told that Kartaram’s condition was fine on Monday night. On Tuesday morning, he was walking around talking to his family members.

Suddenly he was admitted on bed number two of the ICU of Ward No. 14 of Medicine by applying oxygen. Alleged that admission was refused, but the doctors did not agree. Meanwhile, suddenly on Tuesday evening the power supply of the ICU stopped. After a while the doctors declared Kartaram dead.

Meanwhile, on protesting, the medicine doctors also called the police while indecency. The police reached the spot and forced the body out. On the information of death, the family members are in bad condition by crying. The deceased has three small children. He used to run the family by working as a laborer.

Principal of BRD Medical College, Dr. Ganesh Kumar said that no information about such incident has been received. If this has happened then the matter will be investigated. Strict action will be taken against the doctors if found guilty.
