Gorakhpur News: Now MBBS doctors will also do ultrasound of patients, BRD will give six months training

To overcome the shortage of radiologists in the state, the government has decided to get MBBS doctors also to undergo ultrasound. Under this, now MBBS doctors will do ultrasound of the patients. BRD Medical College will give six months training to these doctors to do ultrasound. After this, they will be deployed from the district hospital to other ultrasound centers.

According to information, there is a shortage of radiologists in the entire state. Because of this, patients have to go to private centers and get ultrasound and other radiology tests done. A total of four radiologists are deployed in the district hospital and women’s hospital. Whereas, according to the rules, there should be at least 12 radiologists. Several times the heads of both the institutes also wrote letters to the government for the deployment of radiologists, but the deployment could not be done.

Because of this, only 30 to 40 patients get ultrasound, CT scan and X-ray done daily in the district and women’s hospital. Other patients have to return disappointed. In view of this, the government has decided to make MBBS doctors proficient in ultrasound. For this they will be given training.

CMO Dr. Ashutosh Kumar Dubey said that MBBS doctors can apply for this from the new year. For this, the doctor should have completed five years of MBBS by January 2023. Maximum age should be 45 years. Within five years, the work of MBBS doctors will be verified.

CMO Dr. Ashutosh Kumar Dubey said that ultrasound training for MBBS doctors will be started from the month of January. A letter has come from the government for this. There are some terms and conditions for this, which MBBS doctors have to follow. After the commencement of this facility, patients will be able to undergo X-ray and CT scan tests including ultrasound.
