Under the mass marriage scheme, a big and grand ceremony is going to be organized on November 28 from 10 am at Champa Devi Park ground in Ramgarhtal area. The Social Welfare Department has made preparations for mass marriage of one thousand couples. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath himself will be present to bless these couples.
So far more than one thousand applications have been received under the scheme. The process of verification of applications is being completed expeditiously. The government spends Rs 51,000 per marriage. In this, 35 thousand rupees are transferred to the bank account of the girl child. 10,000 rupees as a gift and the remaining amount is spent on other items.
People’s representatives of the district will be present along with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in the mass marriage ceremony. From the financial year 2017-18, the Yogi government has conducted 3430 marriages only in Gorakhpur district under the Chief Minister’s Mass Marriage Scheme. Now the number of thousand will be added to it.

In jewellery, silver anklet of 25 grams, nettle of six grams. Household items include a cooker, a jug or lota, two plates, two glasses, two bowls and spoons, a box and a make-up box filled with cosmetics.
