Shah Jahan’s 368th Urs will be celebrated at the Taj Mahal in Tajnagari Agra of Uttar Pradesh from February 17 to 19. In the three-day Urs, on two days after 2 pm and on the third day i.e. February 19, tourists will be able to enter free of cost. On the occasion of Urs itself, one will get a chance to see the real tombs of Shahjahan and Mumtaz situated in the basement.

On Tuesday, a meeting was held at the Taj Mahal under the chairmanship of Deputy Superintending Archaeologist Sunita Teotia, in which members of the Urs Committee also attended. It was told in the meeting that Shah Jahan’s Urs would be held from 17 to 19 February. Urs will start with the ritual of Ghusl. Rituals of Sandal, Kulsharif, Kuranikhani, etc. are performed. Chadar Poshi remains the center of attraction here on the last day of Shah Jahan’s Urs.

Khuddam-e-Roza Committee President Tahiruddin Tahir told that this time he will offer 1880 meter long chadar. ASI engineers Rajnarayan, Amarnath Gupta, Prince Vajpayee and committee members Arif Taimuri, Ibrahim Zaidi, Munawwar Ali etc were present in the meeting.

Ahmed Bukhari’s Urs also from 17

The 433rd Urs of Dargah Hazrat Syed Ahmed Bukhari Shah, located at the eastern gate of Taj Mahal, will also be held from February 17 to 19. A meeting was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Collectorate Bar Association President Brajendra Rawat at the Collectorate under the direction of Mohammad Nizam Shah, Chairman of Dargah and Chairman of the Committee.

Nizam Shah informed that the programs will be held in three sessions. Milade-e-Sharif will start on February 17 at 9 pm. On the second day, on February 18, the Urs will be inaugurated at 4 pm. Flag hoisting and Chadar Joshi will be done on the same day at 4.30 pm. Famous artists will participate in Mehfil-e Qawwali at 9 pm. Sadbhavna and Phool Chadar will be held at 4:30 pm on the third day, February 19.
