Yogi Government has canceled the tender received by Adani Transmission, GMR and Intelli Smart Company for getting prepaid smart meters. The tender for installation of 2.5 crore prepaid smart meters in Uttar Pradesh would have been worth Rs 25,000 crore. Madhyanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam has canceled the tender. Only Madhyanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam’s tender would have been worth Rs.5454 crore. Or the tender price was 48 to 65 percent more. That’s why she was opposed from the beginning. The price of the meter should have been mentioned in the tender from 9 to 10 thousand rupees. The estimated amount would have been 6 thousand per meter.
M/s Adani Power Transmission along with GMR and Intelli Smart Company would have got the second part of the tender. They would have received information to start work. The State Consumer Councils said that the meter was expensive and the councils filed a petition with the Regulatory Commission. He would have complained to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Due to seven allegations, Madhyanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Superintendent Engineer Ashok Kumar canceled the tender of Adani Group. It was told that the tender has been canceled due to technical reason. The State Electricity Consumers Council said that the decision to cancel the tender is worthy. The huge tender has put additional burden on the customers, as the Council has said.
