On Phalgun Purnima, devotees will bathe, donate and fast as well as take a holy bath. Devotees on the banks of the Ganga will offer Abir Gulal to their deity after taking a holy dip in Mother Ganga. There will also be a full moon bath between Assi to Rajghat amidst the hue and cry of Holi. The full moon has started from Monday evening itself. Along with the full moon, Holashtak will also end and the pause on auspicious works will also be removed.
Kashi Vidwat Parishad General Secretary Prof. Ramnarayan Dwivedi told that the full moon has started from 4:30 pm on the evening of March 6, which will remain till 5:30 pm on March 7. After this Chaitra Krishna Pratipada will start in the evening. Falgun Purnima, the festival of bathing, charity and fasting, will be celebrated on March 7. Holashtak remains from the Ashtami date of Falgun Shuklapaksha till the full moon of Falgun Shuklapaksha. Holashtak will also end with the full moon.
