Agra’s Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University has rare literature and heritage that anyone would be proud of. To make them accessible to the general public, the university is preserving them by chemical cleaning. Chemical cleaning of the Prithviraj Raso epic, Mughal-era maps of the Red Fort and a Rajasthani text has been completed.
Kanhaiyalal Manik Lal Munshi Hindi and Language Science School (KMI) Prof. Pradeep Sridhar told that KMI, a university institute, has 1436 rare literature and heritage. The work of preserving them has been given to the agency for chemical cleaning of the original Sri Guru Granth Sahib kept in the Golden Temple, Amritsar. The technical team of the agency has started work.
In the beginning, the Prithviraj Raso epic of Chandbardai, the 400-year-old Mughal map of the Red Fort and the Dhola Maru Ri Varta (Rajasthani Premakhyan Kavya) written in 1707 have been preserved by chemical coating. Preserving one copy took 5-7 days. On being satisfied with this work, chemical cleaning of all the heritage will be done.
Palm leaves, Bhoj leaves and Mughal coins
KMI has 1436 books and heritage. There are 26 coins made of gold and other metals from the Mughal period. There are literature and books written on Kanishka period palm and Bhojpatra. They will be preserved with chemical coating and kept in the museum. There is also preparation to make an e-museum.
Will send the project to the Ministry of Culture
Vice Chancellor Prof. Ashu Rani told that the university has very ancient literature and coins. The governor who came to inspect the university in September had also seen them. He asked to preserve them. Work has started on this. Will demand a budget by sending three masterpieces as samples to the Ministry of Culture and Education.
